Ivybridge Self Distancing Check-in During Pandemic

Ivybridge Guesthouse Annexe Facility Open to Asymptomatic Travellers – Recent changes to operations at Ivybridge Guesthouse aimed at calming guests that must travel during blanket distancing calls by government have gone into effect. 8 rooms remain open as they are uniquely positioned in an annexed garden building where hotel lobby, narrow corridors, the lounge and dining areas are completely avoided.
Guest pay online or over the phone and are informed of their room number before arrival. Tea-trays are loaded with additional snacks as a breakfast tray for those that require it. The owners, Mark & Jan are on standby with mobile phones 24/7 for any additional assistance including “meals-on-wheels” room service in take-away style containers from the in-house Chinese licensed restaurant or any other concierge style needs.
The idea to stay open is not all together risk free as we come to understand the spread of this highly contagious virus COVID-19 remains without vaccine. The Ivybridge is only trying to help healthy, asymptomatic travellers that for one reason or another are compelled to journey for family or work reasons during this time. We will try this out from March 2020 and see how we get on.
Our recommendations stand firm with government directives to restrict movement under all circumstances. We remain firm on the policy that guests showing symptoms will NOT be given access. It is always right to call Ivybridge Guesthouse on Tel: 01348875366 for a local update before setting off on your journey.
